Indigo Aircraft MRO Facility at Bangalore, India
About the Project
Indigo (Inter Globe Aviation Ltd) is the largest passenger airlines in India with a Market Share of more than 60%. Indigo has an existing Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) Center at Delhi and now they have established their second MRO Facility at Bangalore. They have collaborated with BIAL for this Project. For this facility they were looking a flooring solution that can withstand against heavy wear & tear and prevent engine oil penetration.
Challenges
• Heavy Oil Spillage - Heavy oil spillage due to the numerous oils & lubricants that are used during repair and maintenance activities. Floor must prevent oil & lubricant penetration.
• Partially exposed to sunlight - This facility's floor was partially exposed to sunlight for which UV protection coating must be done over PU Flooring.
Tremco's Solution
With keen considerations of Indigo's requirement and challenges in the project, Tremco CPG India came up with the solution that fulfilled their technical needs as well as performance criteria.
• Flowshield PU for Durable and Resilient Flooring
Since it is an Aviation MRO Facility, we proposed 4mm PU concrete Flooring using Tremco's Flowshield PU, a tough and durable flooring which is best suited for Aviation industries, vehicle workshops and engineering environments. Flowshield PU screed is a 2mm pigmented, self smoothing polyurethane floor finish that has high impact, wear & tear resistance and good level of chemical resistance for industrial environments.
• Flowseal UV for UV resistant Flooring
A coat of Flowseal UV over Flowshield PU was applied to prevent the floor from UV rays and it also aids in preventing Lubricant or Oil penetration.
